This mix of rare historic footage and insightful review and criticism from friends, fellow musicians and Dylan experts, sheds new light on the 66-78 period of Bob's career - an era that covers his alleged motorcycle accident and recuperation thereafter, the hugely creative sessions recorded with The Band at Big Pink - later to be known as the Basement Tapes -, his appearance at the Isle of Wight festival and return to the live arena and the release of albums including John Wesley Harding, Nashville Skyline, Self Portrait , Blood On The Tracks, and a number of others.
Writers and critics Clinton Heylin, Nigel Williamson, Patrick Humphreys and Derek Barker provide expert analysis of Dylan and his music during this time, while Jacques Levy discusses his work with Bob on "Desire" in the final interview before his death. Musicians Ron Cornelius, Bruce Langhorne, Eric Weissberg, Kevin Odegard, Rob Stoner and Scarlet Rivera are here too, speaking about working with the man during this classic period, both on the road and in the studio.
